CUPE Local 500 > News/Media > News Archive > Local 500/City of Winnipeg Negotiations Update

The Union and the City met to continue negotiations on February 3rd, 2015.

Both parties were able to provide some additional background information regarding a number of proposals.  We can also report that some changes to articles of our collective agreement, and a number of letters of understanding have been tentatively agreed to.  It is important to note, however, we are still in the early stages of negotiations and a number of major issues remain outstanding.

Our next bargaining dates have been scheduled for February 17th and 18th, 2015.  Your bargaining team recognizes that achieving a fair and reasonable settlement in a timely manner is important to our members.

Additional bargaining updates will be provided as negotiations progress.  Please remember that Collective Bargaining is a sensitive process and when dialogue occurs away from the bargaining table, it can jeopardize the success of negotiations.  We ask that you respect this by not asking your bargaining team members about specific proposals and details discussed during negotiations.

We thank you for your continued support.
