Local 500 is proud to accept applications for its annual Les Butterworth Scholarship and Bursary Program.
This year the fund is offering:
- One scholarship of $1,500
- Three bursaries of $1,000 each
The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic achievement and the bursaries on the basis of good academic standing with consideration of financial need.
Open to Local 500 members in good standing and their families (family is defined as spouse, children, grandchildren, brother, sister, son-in-law and daughter-in-law. Also eligible are families of disabled, retired or deceased members who were members in good standing at the time of their disability, retirement or death).
The awards are available for use in an accredited post-secondary school, college or university in Manitoba for the 2019-2020 academic year. (Awards can only be used at Canadian schools outside Manitoba when the course of studies is not offered in Manitoba).
To be eligible for an award, applicants must elect a full year's study for the year 2019-2020. Applicants who have completed one semester or more at a post-secondary school, college or university, may also apply.
Previous award winners are not eligible, but previous applicants may re-apply.
Method of selection:
A selection committee of three prominent Winnipeg citizens will review the applications and other information provided.
Scholarship and Bursary applications must be returned by Friday, June 28, 2019.
