CUPE 500 PICKET DUTY AND STRIKE PAY SIGN UP

September 25th

While we continue to bargain in the hopes that we can secure an acceptable deal for the members, CUPE is doing work to prepare for a potential strike. No strike date has been set.

During a strike, CUPE is responsible for providing strike pay. We are launching an in-person “Picket Duty & Strike Pay Sign-Up Day” to help members register in advance for strike pay, to answer any questions you may have, and to help you be ready in case a strike takes place.

Picket Duty and Strike pay sign-up will take place on Wednesday, September 25th from 9:30am-5:30pm. CUPE will be set up at Darling St. @ Oakwood Ave.

If you are unable to make this day, you can bring your information to the Local 500 office at 203-275 Broadway.

What do I need to bring?

CUPE 500 members must provide their banking information for direct deposit of their Strike Pay, as well as fill out a strike form which will be provided on-site.

Please bring ID with your name and VOID cheque- or use your online banking app/call your bank- so that you can provide: your bank name, transit number, institution number and account number (see example below). You can fill and print the form HERE to save time. Forms will also be available on-site. All information is kept strictly confidential and is only used to provide your strike pay in case of a strike.

Please reach out to CUPE at healthcare@cupe.ca if you have any questions and stay tuned for our next bargaining update.
