Bargaining Update #14 - CUPE Local 500/City of Winnipeg

February 28, 2022 at 7:19 PM

Your bargaining committee met with the employer for seven days in February to continue contract negotiations.

The tone at the bargaining table remains largely cordial. Your bargaining committee remains committed to bringing forward the priorities you’ve identified.

At this point in bargaining, the two parties have exchanged and agreed to multiple non-monetary proposals and continue to make progress towards discussions around wages and other monetary concerns. We are now in the more difficult part of bargaining and appreciate your continued patience and support.

The two parties return to the table on March 8, 15 and 16.

Your bargaining committee is committed to securing a fair collective agreement for the membership. We’ll continue to keep you updated as talks progress.

Remember, your collective agreement remains in full force and effect as we negotiate a new agreement. As always, if you have a workplace concern, please talk to a member of your Unit Executive or a Shop Steward.

If you have any questions about bargaining, please reach out to a member of your negotiating committee or contact the Local 500 office at 204-942-1001 or email: union@cupe500.mb.ca
