Bargaining Update #2 - CUPE Local 500/City of Winnipeg bargaining set to begin!

March 02, 2021 at 10:39 AM

The Local 500 and City of Winnipeg bargaining committees are set to open contract negotiations on Wednesday, March 10 to exchange proposals. The two parties have also scheduled bargaining sessions for March 15 – 17, March 23 & 24, April 6 & 7, April 13 & 15.

Once we begin our meetings with the employer, we will provide a more detailed update to the membership.  As in previous rounds, we will keep you informed through regular communication updates via workplace bulletins, mass emails, social media and on our website at cupe500.mb.ca. You can sign up for email updates here. Please provide your home email address only.

As always, the union does not bargain in the media. We would also like to remind all members not to listen to rumours that may come up during the bargaining process. Please reach out to your unit executive or shop steward for additional information or with questions. You can also contact the Local 500 office at 204-942-1001 or email us at union@cupe500.mb.ca.

Your bargaining committee is committed to negotiating a fair and reasonable contract. We appreciate your support along the way.
