Local 500 honours Dembicki with life membership

November 06, 2017 at 4:04 PM

Local 500 member and activist Phil Dembicki, Community Services Unit, was welcomed into the honourary life membership at a dinner held on November 3, 2017. Also attending the dinner were honourary life members who received their award in previous years.

Local 500 President Gord Delbridge presented Brother Dembick with a plaque and CUPE wristwatch in appreciation of his years of service to the union.

Honourary life membership is awarded to outstanding CUPE members for their services given to the Local over an extended period of time. Honorary life membership may also be given for meritorious service to the Local.

Life membership can be awarded when the person is within five years of retirement or after retirement or termination of their employment.

Congratulations to Phil for his dedication and commitment to our Local and to the trade union movement over the years.
