Local 500 Mourns the loss of Ron Land

Local 500 is sad to announce the passing of Honourary Life Member Ron Land 
on September 10, 2022.
on September 10, 2022.Ron commenced employment with the City of Winnipeg on April 28, 1970.
In 1971, he became a shop steward and over the years, served in a number of positions within both the former Refuse and Clerical Unit of Local 500. Ron also served on the Local 500 Executive and on a number of committees including Health and Safety, Contracting out, Political Action, Resolutions, Honourary Life and Negotiating Committee.
Ron’s many years of dedication and commitment to our union and our collective fight for a better world for all will never be forgotten.
We extend our heartfelt and deepest condolences to Ron’s family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, September 19 from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Assiniboia West Rec Centre. You can read more details here
