Local 500/Emterra Bargaining Update: Members Approve New Agreement

On January 14, 2018, Local 500 members working at the Emterra Recycling Plant voted to accept a new agreement. IMG_6059.jpg

Highlights of the Agreement

Term:  
Five (5) years - (July 1, 2018 – June 30, 2023)             

Wages:     -

  • Effective July 1, 2018 - Targeted salary increases to all classifications.
  • 2.25 % - effective July 1, 2019
  • 2% - effective July 1, 2020
  • 2.25% - effective July 1, 2021
  • 2.5% - effective July 1, 2022

Shift Premium:

$1.00 per hour of shift premium for hours worked between 10:00 pm and 5:00 pm (regardless of when shift starts or ends).

Other highlights include improvements to annual vacation time off, general holiday pay and new language around harassment and discipline.
