Healthcare Update- STRIKE POSTPONED

October 08, 2024 at 8:16 AM

*THE STRIKE IS POSTPONED*

At 4:25am this morning the CUPE and MGEU bargaining teams reached a tentative agreement which will see significant improvements. We will reach out to you soon with details of the tentative agreement and when you can vote on it.

The strike is therefore postponed pending the results of the ratification vote.

We will be arranging info sessions over the next number of days leading up to the vote. Both CUPE and MGEU are recommending acceptance of the tentative agreement.

Thank you to all members for your support, strength, and solidarity throughout this process. Your mobilization and action helped to achieve a tentative agreement that will see significant improvements to your wages and working conditions.

Please show up to work the shifts you’ve been assigned by your employer (including Essential Services shifts). If you have questions about your work shift, please contact your employer.

There are *no* picket shifts today. Please spread the word to your coworkers and stay tuned for more information soon.
