Market Adjustment Update
CUPE has been working hard to get you the market adjustment payments as quickly as possible.
We have also been working to ensure that the adjustments accurately reflect what you are owed.
Your bargaining committee has had to make numerous amendments during this process from the feedback we received from CUPE members. That has changed the signed off date to May 24, 2024 and therefore the payout date for those classifications in Batch #2 to August 16th, 2024. That is the date that Batch #3 is also being paid out.
CUPE understood the payments for Batch #2 should have been by July 5 and through our inquiries this week regarding the retro pay discovered that the payout date had been changed. This information was shared with management early June and should have been communicated to staff then by the Employer.
We know this is an inconvenience to those expecting their retro pay this month, but we want to make sure that your employer is giving you exactly what you are owed—no less.
