2021 Scholarship and Bursary Award Winners

Four students have won awards from the Les Butterworth Scholarship Fund sponsored by CUPE Local 500.
One scholarship of $2,000 and three bursaries of $1,000 were awarded.
The scholarship is awarded on the basis of academic achievement. This year’s scholarship recipient is Grace Francis who is enrolled in the Interdisciplinary Health Sciences Program at the University of Manitoba. Her father is a retired Local 500 member who worked at the Forestry Branch in the Public Works Department at the City of Winnipeg.
The bursaries are awarded on the basis of good academic standing with consideration of financial need.Here are the bursary award winners for 2021:
Pamela Jensen is a Local 500 member working in Assessment & Taxation at the City of Winnipeg. Pamela is enrolled in the Professional Development for Adult Learning Certificate in the Extended Education Program at the University of Manitoba.
Jocelyn Penner is a Local 500 member working at the Assiniboine Park Conservancy. She is enrolled in the Social Sciences Program with a focus in Counselling Studies at the Canadian Mennonite University.
Shalev Schellenberg is a Local 500 member working at Riverview Health Centre. She is enrolled in the Licensed Practical Nursing - School of Nursing at Assiniboine Community College.
