Bargaining Update #15 - CUPE 500/City of Winnipeg
March 24, 2022 at 4:39 PM
Negotiations between CUPE Local 500 and the City of Winnipeg continued on March 8, 15 and 16.
Discussions between the two parties remain cordial and constructive. Your bargaining committee continues to focus on bringing to the table the priorities that our members have identified. Wages, job security/contracting out, benefit improvements and sick/vacation days, are the top priorities in this round of negotiations.
We know that this round of bargaining is taking a long time and appreciate your continued patience. We are making progress and reaffirm our commitment to obtaining a fair deal for our members.
The next bargaining meeting of the Union and the Employer will take place on April 12. We also have meetings scheduled for April 14, 26, 27 and 28.
Your bargaining committee has also been meeting regularly to continue our preparation and strategic discussions for our next rounds of negotiation meetings.
As always, we encourage members with questions or comments about the bargaining process to contact us at 204-942-1001 or by email to: union@cupe500.mb.ca.
We appreciate your support and will provide our next update after the April sessions.
In solidarity,
Your Negotiating Committee
