CUPE Local 500 will be keeping an eye on the details regarding the City's operating and capital budgets.  A special meeting of the City's Executive Policy Committee has been called for Wednesday, January 9 to table both the 2013 Preliminary Capital and 2013 Operating Budget.

"The operating budget needs to reflect the needs of the community and provide the public services that the citizens of Winnipeg rely on," said Local 500 President, Mike Davidson.

The Standing Policy Committees of Council are set to review both budgets as follows:

- Friday, January 11, 9:00 am - Standing Policy Committee on Infrastructure Renewal and Public Works
- Monday, January 14, 9:00 am - Standing Policy Committee on Protection and Community Services
- Tuesday, January 15, 9:00 am - Standing Policy Committee on Property and Development
- Wednesday, January 16, 9:00 am - Executive Policy Committee
- Tuesday, January 29, 9:30 am - City Council

Over the coming weeks CUPE Local 500 will be closely monitoring and reviewing the specifics of the 2013 Budget and we will continue to keep our members updated.
