On October 15, members at Southdale Community ratified their first collective agreement.  The new four-year deal includes both wage and vacation improvements.

On October 27, employees working at the Emterra recycling facility voted in favour of their first agreement which includes wage improvements over the five-year term.

"We are pleased with the results of both ratification votes for first agreements at these two facilities," said Local 500 President, Mike Davidson.  "I'm also very proud of the gains we made in terms of wages for our members in both agreements."

CUPE Local 500 represents around four members at Southdale Community Centre and about 80 workers at the Emterra recycling facility.
