CUPE 500/City of Winnipeg Bargaining Update #16
April 29, 2022 at 4:40 PM
CUPE Local 500 and the City of Winnipeg have completed four more days of bargaining on April 12,14,26 and 27.
The two parties continued their discussions on monetary proposals. These can include issues such as wages, benefits, and other monetary items identified as important by the members. We remain focused on securing a fair collective agreement for our members.
Further bargaining dates are scheduled for May 17, 18 and 19, 2022.
The Union will continue to report on our progress and will relay as much information on the status of bargaining as possible. Our objective is to be as open with members as possible, without undermining the integrity of the bargaining process. As a reminder, the Union does not bargain in the media.
This is a critical time in our bargaining process and it’s important to avoid listening to rumours during negotiations. If you have a concern or question, please contact the Local 500 office directly.
