CUPE Local 500 and WAPSO have jointly launched a one-week radio ad campaign calling on Council to immediately stop, and begin to reverse the Vacancy Management program to ensure our municipal workforce is adequately staffed.
The City is proposing over $20 million in Vacancy Management in the proposed 2016 operating budget. Currently, there are approximately 268 total positions that are vacant at the City of Winnipeg.
