EPC approves Municipal Corporate Utility
July 16, 2009 at 1:51 AM
On July 15, the City's Executive Policy Committee (EPC) of Council voted unanimously in favour of creating a Municipal Corporate Utility despite opposition by a number of concerned citizens, groups and other stakeholders who were critical of the plan.
CUPE Local 500 President Mike Davidson made a presentation on behalf of the 3,400 members working at the City of Winnipeg.
The proposed plan will still require final approval by City Council when they meet on July 22.
