Golf Courses and Custodial Services Update - Alternate Service Delivery Process

April 11, 2013 at 7:30 AM

The Local is busy preparing its presentations for the upcoming city council meeting with respect to the alternate service delivery of golf courses and custodial services.  So far, both the custodial and golf course reports have not been placed on the agenda for the April 24th Council meeting.

On February 25, 2013, the City’s Alternate Service Delivery (ASD) Committee of Council approved a recommendation to lease four city-run golf courses -- Crescent Drive, Harbour View, Kildonan Park and Windsor Park -- to the private sector and  approved the Business Plan for the Proposed Competitive Bid Process for Custodial Services.

The Local is also continuing with its public relations campaign including TV, radio and print advertisements.  To view or listen to our ads, please visit our website at cupe500.mb.ca.

We will continue to monitor the city council agenda and keep the membership updated as more information becomes available.  Until a decision is made, it's business as usual for both of these services.
