Health Care Aide Day is October 18

Health Care Aide Day, October 18, was proclaimed by Theresa Oswald, Minister of Health for the Province of Manitoba in recognition of their hard work and commitment to our health care system on an ongoing basis.
Health Care Aides provide hands on care to hospital patients, personal care home residents, or home care clients in meeting their physical, emotional, and social needs.
“Local 500 is proud of the role Health Care Aides play in providing critical personal care in our health care system and in our community,” said Local 500 President Mike Davidson.
There are over 8,000 Health Care Aides in Manitoba. Local 500 represents Health Care Aides working at Riverview Health Centre.
