Health Care Support Workers' Week October 4 - 8, 2021

In July of this year, the Manitoba Government officially proclaimed the week of October 4 to 8, 2021 as Health Care Support Workers' Week.
The proclamation issued by the Minister of Health notes that “the COVID-19 pandemic has underscored the value of health care support workers who have been on the front line protecting our elders, patients, clients and community during incredibly difficult circumstances.”
"I would like to thank and commend our members who work tirelessly to help deliver high quality health care to Manitoba families," said Local 500 President Gord Delbridge. “Your ongoing commitment and dedication has been essential during this unprecedented time and we appreciate and value your efforts to help keep our community safe and healthy.”
Local 500 represents members at Riverview Health Centre and the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority who provide a wide range of health care support services.
