The CUPE Bargaining Council and the Provincial Health Labour Relations Services (PHLRS) met on May 22nd, 27th, and 30th, 2024, with additional dates scheduled for June 6th, 7th, 8th, 12th, 13th, 14th, 15th, 20th, and 27th, 2024 with the potential to add further days.
We are close to being done the language portion of the negotiations. Further items that we have agreed to include language regarding Leave of Absences (LOA’s), trial period, French language Letters of Understanding (LOU’s), no black out periods for vacation selection, master rotation changes, mandating of overtime, legal liability, family sick leave, inclement weather, and uniform allowance.
Bargaining continues to progress well, and we hope to be starting monetary discussions within the next few weeks.

What happens to the Market Adjustment and Pension/Benefits Committees?
The Market Adjustment/Wage Standardization (MAWS) and Pension/Benefit (PBSC) will continue to meet every week until their work is complete.
