Local 500 begins preparations for bargaining with Winnipeg Humane Society

The Collective Agreement between CUPE Local 500 and the Winnipeg Humane Society is set to expire on December 31, 2012.
On June 6, a general membership meeting was held with the CUPE Local 500 members working at the Winnipeg Humane Society to elect the bargaining committee members. A bargaining survey was also distributed and will be used to help identify the members’ priorities.
The bargaining committee will meet at a future date to continue its preparation work. The Local anticipates that bargaining will get underway with the employer sometime in the fall.
