CUPE Local 500 members have approved the tentative agreement with the City of Winnipeg.   Acceptance was 61.6%.

“It was a very difficult round of bargaining but both sides came to a satisfactory agreement," said Mike Davidson, President of CUPE Local 500.  “I would like to commend our negotiating team for their hard work and convey our thanks to our membership for their continued support.”

The tentative agreement must now be ratified by City Council.  Please watch for further updates as more information becomes available.

Highlights of the Agreement

Term of the Agreement:

Two Years effective December 28, 2014

Wages:

Effective Pay Period #1, 2015 (December 28, 2014)  - 2.00%

Effective Pay Period #1, 2016 (December 27, 2015)  - 2.00%

Other:

Job Security - "Status quo"

Benefits:

Effective Date of Ratification

Vision Care - Increase to $375 and $90 for cost of eye exam for full-time; increase to $187.50 and $45.00 for cost of eye exam for part-time.
