CUPE Local 500 > News/Media > News Archive > Local 500/City of Winnipeg Negotiations Update #2, 2017

On January 21, the Union’s bargaining committee met to finalize our proposal package in preparation for upcoming negotiations with the City of Winnipeg.  The union's proposals were developed based on the membership priorities identified in the bargaining survey.  The next step of the process will be to exchange proposals with the City of Winnipeg.

Bargaining to commence in February

The two parties have scheduled dates to commence joint bargaining during the week of February 6. As with previous rounds, we will keep you updated through regular bulletin updates.  You can find these updates posted in your workplace and on our website.  The other way to receive bargaining information is to sign up for email updates on our website.

Once we begin our meetings with the employer, we will provide a more detailed update to the membership. Your bargaining committee is committed to negotiating a fair and reasonable contract and appreciate your along the way.
