Member Update: Health Care Bargaining

October 23, 2020 at 4:19 PM

We have a date to start bargaining! On December 16, 2020, the Bargaining Committee will meet with the Provincial Health Labour Relations Services (PHLRS) representatives to begin bargaining.

The Bargaining Committee has met and reviewed the results of the survey. We know this round of bargaining will not be easy, but you can count on CUPE to fight hard for you.

WAGE LEGISLATION

CUPE and other unions, through the Manitoba Federation of Labour, fought the Pallister government’s wage freeze legislation in court, and we won. Now the government is trying to appeal that decision, and that may take some time. While we are confident we can finally stop Pallister’s wage freeze bill, we have pushed the Employer to meet with us to start bargaining now.
