New radio ad says keep services in public hands

December 12, 2012 at 3:28 PM

Local 500 has launched a new radio ad highlighting the importance of keeping municipal services in public hands.

"We are reminding the citizens of Winnipeg that when public services are handed over to private operators for profit, we all lose," said Local 500 President Mike Davidson. "Instead of funds being re-invested locally, they end up in the bank accounts of large corporations often located elsewhere."

The thirty second ad began airing on December 10.
