As COVID numbers continue to rise in Manitoba the Employer is starting to look at redeploying/reassigning staff to other facilities.  A call has gone out to members who may want to volunteer.  If you wish to volunteer there is an memorandum of agreement that was negotiated in April of 2020 that provides reimbursements and a stipend. You should receive the stipend (amount varies), parking and mileage to attend these new sites.

If you agree to:

1 – Modify your shift schedule and/or; (eg work 12 hour shifts)

2 – Work in a PCH in an outbreak situation or ICU/CCU in your own facility/site or (not applicable to regularly scheduled shifts within these units)

3 – Work at a different facility or site, in a PCH, ICU or CCU,

If you volunteer to work at a COVID outbreak site or ICU/CCU you will be provided an additional $25 per shift (on top of the MOA redeployment money).

If you get assigned to work at a different facility or ICU/CCU you will get an additional $25 per shift (on top of the redeployment money).

If you get assigned to work at a different facility or ICU/CCU for an overtime shift you will get an additional $20 per shift (on top of the redeployment money).

This agreement is understood to be entirely without prejudice and precedent to the positions taken by either Employer or Union with respect to the applicability and/or interpretation of the MOA on Covid Redeployment, or any current or future grievance or dispute between the parties as to the interpretation or application of that existing MOA.
