UPDATE ON SPECIAL WAGE ADJUSTMENT #1
The Union met with the employer on November 29, 2023.
The employer came to us with a deal that will be presented at a special Table Officers meeting on December 15th, of which has a representative from each unit. If it’s accepted, we will look at getting it implemented right away. If it’s not accepted, the next step will be arbitration.
This still remains our number one priority. We want to get this money into the pockets of our members as soon as possible, in the fairest way possible. The $400,000 covers close to 400 members within the various classifications that were listed for the SWA #1. Again, the pay will be retroactive.
The Union had asked the employer to contribute more funds to the account in order to have a more equitable wage adjustment, however the employer declined.
